The North East Chilli Festival is a 2 day food festival for Chilli fans nationwide. The inaugural event set to take place this summer will have a host of the UK's top chilli producers.

2012 news, rumours and updates

Organised by Northumberland based Hot Stuff Chilli, The award winning Newcastle-based Deli Mmm... and the National Trust, the event offers chilli fans and newbies to taste some of the world's hottest food- if they dare!

Food and other entertainment

Those attending will be able to try a variety of chilli based or infused foods, including the worlds current hottest specimen, the Trinidad 'Moruga Scorpion".

It's not just going to be about food though- with a host of music, strolling bands, children’s activities, an international food marquee, picnic areas, history, walks, games and more, there will plenty to do when recovering from a hot mouth!

Facts and conception

With chilli festival held all over the UK, attracting many visitors, organisers aim for this event to put the north east on the UK chilli map. The other ethos of the event is to celebrate the great handmade food made by small producers in the UK, as well as provide an opportunity for people to expand their tastebud horizon.

The National Trust also sees it as a perfect way to attract new visitors to the charming Seaton Delaval Hall which is almost 300 years old.
