Accidental Festival

Accidental Festival is a 4 day festival, where 21 young and talented producers from all corners of the globe are given The Roundhouse in Camden, London, to produce a festival programme with what ever they want.

Entirely run by second year students at Central School of Speech and Drama on the BA Theatre Practice: Performance Arts course. The festival is now in its seventh year and is a not-for-profit organisation.

From the classic and cordial to the downright bizarre, there is just about everything to tickle your taste buds – comedy, new writing, dance, puppetry, film exhibition, live music, and free bite-sized performance spread throughout the Roundhouse.

About Central School Of Speech & Drama:

Central School of Speech & Drama, University of London offers undergraduate, postgraduate and research degrees in acting, music theatre, physical and visual theatre, applied theatre, movement, voice, stage management, puppetry, scenography, sound design, theatre design, drama therapy and drama and media studies teacher training, as well as MPhil/PhD research degrees.

About the Roundhouse:

Each year the Roundhouse works with over 3,000 11-25s enabling them to realise their creative potential, and offers audiences of all ages new and extraordinary experiences in live music, circus, theatre and new media.

2012:

Comedy: Saturday evening at the Studio Theatre will feature School of Comedy (as seen on E4), Grand Theft Impro (Phil Whelans, Dylan Emery and Cariad Lloyd), a pre-Edinburgh preview from Casual Violence and Fat Kitten Improv (2 June, 7:00pm, £10).

Puppetry: Aimed both at young audiences and adults, our selection includes performances by Smooth Operators (11:15am), Trembling Hands (1:30pm) and Odd Doll (3:30pm) as part of the Student Puppet Festival, organised by Central School of Speech & Drama. (Sunday, 3 June 2012, £5 single ticket or £10 for all three shows).

Alternative: 'Cage in Motion' by Harrison Ensemble feat. Animated Dance, a celebration of the 100th anniversary of John Cage's birth. (3 June 2012, 6:15pm, £7).
